We refine and manufacture our own silver bullion in-house at our Birmingham facility, rather than sourcing from third-party suppliers. That means tighter quality control, full assay verification on every product, and some of the most competitive premiums over spot price available from a UK refiner.
Yes. Unlike investment gold, all silver coins and bars sold in the UK are subject to standard rate VAT (currently 20%), as silver is classed as a commodity rather than investment metal for VAT purposes. This applies whether you're buying coins, bars or grain.
It depends on the product. UK legal tender silver coins, such as Britannia coins, are exempt from Capital Gains Tax regardless of how much they increase in value. Silver bars and non-legal tender coins do not carry this exemption, so gains on these may be subject to CGT if they exceed your annual allowance. As tax rules can change and individual circumstances vary, we'd always recommend checking your position with a qualified tax adviser.
