WHY CHOOSE WARSTONE REFINERY, BIRMINGHAM

Refining built around the dealer, not the refiner.

Most refiners quietly clip 10–15% and keep you waiting.
We do the opposite: a flat 5%-6%, returned fast, with every figure shown in black and white.

£
5%-6% Flat Refining Fee

One transparent rate on recovered fine silver — no hidden lot fees, handling charges or treatment deductions buried in the small print.

Fast Turnaround

From the moment your pack lands with us, most lots are assayed, settled and ready to return within two working days. Cash or fresh metal — your choice.

Transparent Assay

Every lot is weighed and assayed on calibrated equipment, with a full certificate showing gross weight, purity and recovered yield.

Send Your Parcel

Simply send your parcel, and we will weigh and value your metals, including scrap gold.

Secure & Compliant

CCTV-monitored handling, audited processes and full chain-of-custody records from receipt to settlement. Your stock is treated like our own.

Live Market Pricing

Settlement is calculated against the live LBMA silver fix on the day we process — no opaque "house rate", no guesswork.

A lower commission you can actually see.

On a 1 kg lot of sterling scrap, the difference between a 5% and a 15% refining fee can be hundreds of pounds — money that belongs in your business, not your refiner’s.

Frequently Asked Questions

We accept most silver items, including rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, watches, trophies, serving trays, dishes, cutlery and flatware. Items can be broken, damaged, odd or incomplete sets - if it contains silver, we can usually assess it.

If you're not sure whether your jewellery is solid gold, platinum or silver, a simple magnet test can help - precious metals are not magnetic, so if an item is strongly attracted to a magnet, it's unlikely to be solid silver, gold or platinum. This isn't a definitive test on its own, but it's a useful first check. Our lab assay will always confirm the exact metal content once we receive your item.

Not necessarily. A missing hallmark doesn't automatically mean an item is inferior or not genuine silver. Many older pieces, foreign-made jewellery, and items made before certain hallmarking requirements simply were never marked. We assay every item in-house regardless of hallmark status, so you'll always get an accurate valuation based on actual metal content, not just the stamp.

Every item is assessed and assayed in our own laboratory to determine its true silver content. Your payment is calculated based on that verified content, minus our refining fee of just 5-6% - one of the lowest rates in the UK.

Yes. Your material is fully insured and tracked from the moment it arrives with us, through every stage of assessment and refining, right up until payment is made.

We pride ourselves on a fast, efficient service. Once your item has been assessed and you've accepted our valuation, settlement is arranged promptly with no unnecessary delays.

We're happy to assess anything from a single item to a large mixed collection. Get in touch and our team can advise on the best way to send your items based on quantity.

Simply contact us to arrange collection or postage. We'll guide you through packaging your items securely, and everything is tracked and insured from the moment it's in transit to us.

No. We'll provide a fair, transparent valuation, and the decision to proceed is entirely yours.
